I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the IoT Thrust, Information Hub, and hold a joint appointment in the Thrust of Robotics and Autonomous Systems, System Hub, at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). I received my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Toronto in 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Baochun Li, and my B.S. degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) in 2019. I have also worked as a research assistant at City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Cong Wang and Prof. Bo Li, respectively.
During my Ph.D., my research focused on distributed machine learning and federated learning, particularly the training of large language models in edge-computing and metaverse environments. After joining HKUST(GZ), I will continue pursuing research in these interdisciplinary areas, with a particular focus on embodied AI and distributed systems, with a particular focus on robot manipulation and collaborative tasks involving multiple robotic arms. I received the IEEE MetaCom Best Paper Award in 2023.
I am recruiting self-motivated PhD students, Research Assistants, and Interns to join my group, NEBULIS Lab. If you are passionate about our research directions, please feel free to reach out to me or any of our group members.
